Stranded Loose Tube Armored Cable (GYTY53)

The GYTY53 cable is designed for outdoor and underground installations, offering excellent mechanical protection and water resistance.

Structure and Features

1. Optical Fibers:
   • 200μm or 250μm fibers positioned in loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic.
   • Suitable for both single-mode and multimode fibers.
2. Loose Tubes:
   • Filled with a water-resistant filling compound for fiber protection.
3. Strength Member:
   • A central steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for high fiber count configurations, provides core strength.
4. Cable Core:
   • Loose tubes and fillers are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact, circular cable core.
   • The core is filled with a water-blocking compound to prevent water ingress.
5. Sheath and Armoring:
   • A thin PE inner sheath wraps the cable core.
   • A layer of longitudinally applied steel tape (PSP) and corrugated steel armor enhance mechanical protection.
   • The outer layer consists of a durable PE sheath for additional environmental resistance.
