Structure and Features

1. Optical Fibers:
   • The cable consists of multiple fibers (typically 200μm or 250μm), positioned in multiple loose tubes.

2. Loose Tube Construction:

3. Water-Resistant Filling:

4. Strength Member:
   • A steel wire is used as a central strength member, which provides the necessary tensile strength for the cable. The steel wire is often coated or sheathed to enhance its durability, particularly in high-fiber-count cables.

5. Armoring:
   • The cable is armored with Steel Tape or PSP (Polyester Steel Tape), which provides protection against mechanical damage, crush resistance, and rodent attacks.

6. Sheathing:
   • The cable is completed with a durable PE (Polyethylene) outer sheath, offering excellent resistance to UV radiation, abrasion, and chemical exposure.
   • An inner PE sheath may also be used to provide additional protection for the cable core and to prevent the ingress of contaminants.
7. Water-Blocking:
   • The cable features water-blocking materials between the loose tubes and armoring to ensure that water cannot enter the cable, even in damp conditions.
   • This water-resistant design helps maintain the integrity and performance of the fiber optics.
